Cost Analyst

HCR Permanent Search is currently working with a top manufacturing company in Guelph who needs to hire a Cost Analyst to handle daily accounting, reporting, and cost analysis activities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Work Setting: In office

Shift Schedule: Days

Location Details: Guelph

Responsibilities:

• Conduct weekly cost reviews and prepare KPI-related reports.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and job costing to track project expenses and profitability.
• Support FP&A functions by assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and preparing monthly variance reports.
• Oversee the inventory cycle count program and implement it across applicable facilities.
• Update inventory costing quarterly and manage customer price adjustments.
• Calculate and present overhead burden rates annually or as needed.
• Cross-train to assist other accounting team members with KPIs, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Perform ad-hoc cost analysis to aid business decisions.
• Provide support during audits and assist other divisions when required.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree in Accounting; CPA designation or working toward certification.
• 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of ASPE and/or IFRS standards and accounting principles.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Visual Manufacturing preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
