Distribution Centre Manager

Our client, a world class manufacturer is looking for a Distribution Centre Manager.

  • Improve performance metrics (shipping accuracy, inventory accuracy, efficiency, cost).
  • Execute improvement projects (process, equipment, systems, facility).
  • Plan and manage monthly labor requirements and staffing.
  • Coordinate distribution activities with other departments and vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead supervisors, team leads, and area coordinators.
  • Manage daily workload and status meetings.
  • Prioritize work requirements and resolve production obstacles.
  • Ensure shipment accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead safety program and monthly safety meetings.
  • Oversee training for up to 60 associates in two locations.
  • Participate in hiring and maintain relationships with contractors and staffing agencies.
  • Manage department expenses and approve vendor invoices.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and coordinate transfers.
  • Follow customer routing guidelines to prevent chargebacks.
  • Verify shipment discrepancies with customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years management experience in distribution center.
  • Experience in multi-shift operations and continuous improvement.
  • Expertise in Manhattan WMS, 3rd party shipping systems, ERP systems (SAP).
  • Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
  • Strong project management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to move throughout distribution center and lift cartons up to 40 lbs.
