Health, Safety and Environmental
Our Client
Our client, a leading automotive manufacturer with multiple facilities across Ontario, is currently seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE). This position plays a key role in implementing and maintaining the company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability programs. Working closely with the HR Manager and a small team, the HSE Coordinator will lead initiatives to ensure compliance, promote continuous improvement, and foster a safe and sustainable workplace culture.
Key Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Studies
- Minimum 3 years of HSE experience, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive environment
- Strong knowledge of OHSA, ISO14001, and environmental legislation
- Experience with audits, risk assessments, and return-to-work programs
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability policies and procedures
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies (e.g., MOL, MOE) and corporate HSE teams
- Conduct risk assessments, accident investigations, and support return-to-work initiatives
- Coordinate internal/external audits and ensure compliance with ISO14001 and other standards
- Educate employees on HSE protocols and lead safety committees and emergency response efforts
