HCR Permanent Search is currently working with a top manufacturing company in Cambridge who needs to hire a Mechanical Engineering Estimator.  The Estimator is responsible for analyzing technical drawings, specifications, and client requirements to determine the projected costs of manufacturing parts and components.

 

Work Setting: In office

Shift Schedule: Days

Location: Guelph

 

Responsibilities:

  • Primary Responsibilities:
    • Serving as the main point of contact for clients, the Estimator addresses inquiries, shares progress updates, and ensures exceptional customer service throughout the quoting process.
    • This role involves developing detailed cost estimates, working closely with internal teams, and guaranteeing that all proposals are accurate and competitively priced

 

Qualifications:

  • Solid grasp of welding techniques, materials, and production processes
  • Familiarity with the fabrication of welded assemblies
  • Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities for precise cost estimation
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving capabilities
  • Clear and effective communicator with strong collaboration skills
  • Experienced in using cost estimation software and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
