Senior Software Engineer

HCR Permanent Search is working with a leading edge technology company. They are searching for a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop highly scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems. You will architect and build real-time services using NestJS, ORM, and PostgreSQL, deploying them into a modern containerized environment.

 

Work Setting: Remote

Location: Ontario

Work type: Contract 1 year

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field)
  • 8+ years of backend engineering experience.

 

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in NestJS, TypeScript, and modern Node.js patterns.
  • Deep experience using ORM with PostgreSQL, including complex relational modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Proven experience building scalable, real-time systems running in Docker or containerized microservice architectures.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and event-driven architectures.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
  • Develop and support software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to insure project meets business objectives and compliance standards
  • Support test and deployment of new products and features
  • Participate in code reviews
