Systems Administrator Servers and Networking

Our client, a world leader in the automotive parts manufacturing sector is currently recruiting for a Systems Administrator.  s.

Required Skills & Expertise:

 

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science or IT, or similar training.
  • 5 years of experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
  • Cisco Certification (CCNA or CCNP).
  • Experience or certification with NetApp and VMware.
  • Experience or certification with Veeam backup and recovery.
  • Good at scripting (Bash, Powershell, Python) for automating tasks and monitoring systems.
  • Solid understanding of Linux (Redhat, Ubuntu) and Windows Server.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Take care of the network setup, including routers, switches, wireless, and firewalls.
  • Keep an eye on how the network is doing, fix any issues, and make sure it’s secure.
  • Set up and manage VPNs, VLANs, and other network tech.
  • Look after both physical and virtual servers to keep them running smoothly.
  • Regularly update servers and switches to stay secure.
  • Have a plan for disaster recovery and test backup solutions to make sure data is always available.
  • Make sure the business keeps running smoothly with redundancy and failover systems.
  • Handle backups and recovery for servers, apps, and file shares.
  • Keep network diagrams up to date.
