Position Summary:
HCR requires Part-Time Accounting Assistant at our client in Brampton at major Intersection Torbram & Steeles.
The accounting assistant will be responsible for
- Managing various accounting tasks
- Ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Supporting the overall financial operations of the company
Term Required: 6 months
Hourly Rate: $25−$30, based on experience
Days Expected in the Office: 2-3 days per week
Major Responsibilities
- Prepares and maintains financial records including general ledger entries, fully cycle accounts payable and receivable, intercompany reconciliations
- Performs reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Supports the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial data and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support business operations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist finance manager & controller in analyzing financial data and other special projects
- Other tasks as required
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel – specifically using LookUps, Pivot Tables & Formulas.
- Ability to promote teamwork and creativity in the workplace.
- Possess initiative and willingness to learn.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to appreciate and maintain the appropriate level of confidentiality.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Demonstrate the ability to understand simple and complex math calculations.
Qualifications
Education and experience | Accounting Diploma/Degree, or with relevant accounting experience |
Other Experience Preferred: | Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Sage 300 would be an asset but not mandatory. |
