Position Summary:

 

HCR requires Part-Time Accounting Assistant at our client in Brampton at major Intersection Torbram & Steeles.

 

The accounting assistant will be responsible for

  • Managing various accounting tasks
  • Ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Supporting the overall financial operations of the company

 

Term Required: 6 months

 

Hourly Rate: $25−$30, based on experience

 

Days Expected in the Office: 2-3 days per week

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains financial records including general ledger entries, fully cycle accounts payable and receivable, intercompany reconciliations
  • Performs reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Supports the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial data and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support business operations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist finance manager & controller in analyzing financial data and other special projects
  • Other tasks as required

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel – specifically using LookUps, Pivot Tables & Formulas.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and creativity in the workplace.
  • Possess initiative and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to appreciate and maintain the appropriate level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand simple and complex math calculations.

 

Qualifications

Education and experience Accounting Diploma/Degree, or with relevant accounting experience
Other Experience Preferred: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Sage 300 would be an asset but not mandatory.
