Skills & Qualifications

  • Education
    • Post secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
    • Professional accounting designation (CPA)

    Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years in a senior financial leadership or controllership role
    • Experience supporting multiple site operations
    • Demonstrated ability to work within complex organizational structures

    Technical & Professional Competencies

    • Strong command of advanced accounting principles and reporting frameworks
    • Extensive experience with ERP platforms and enterprise financial systems
    • Expert level Excel and financial data modeling capabilities
    • Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance & Controls
    • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized financial policies and internal controls
    • Ensure full compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations

    Financial Systems Oversight

    • Provide leadership for core financial and payroll systems
    • Guide system enhancements and validate financial outputs across multiple teams

    Team Leadership

    • Manage and develop a multidisciplinary finance team, including operations finance, payroll, and cost analysts
    • Support hiring, talent development, and succession planning within the finance function

    Performance Reporting & Analytics

    • Oversee preparation of consolidated financial statements and key performance reports
    • Implement consistent reporting tools to track margins, operational efficiency, and organizational health

    Cost & Operational Analysis

    • Lead analysis related to resource utilization, labor performance, overhead allocation, and production related expenditures
    • Support decision making through actionable insights and deep dive financial modeling

    Taxation & External Reporting

    • Oversee preparation of tax provisions and support corporate tax planning initiatives
    • Coordinate external audits and ensure the accuracy of statutory filings

    Strategic & Executive Support

    • Partner closely with leadership and FP&A teams to interpret financial outcomes
    • Contribute to strategic planning, capital management, and enterprise wide optimization efforts

    Working Capital Management

    • Drive improvements in receivables, payables, inventory performance, and cash flow efficiency
