Health & Safety Coordinator
HCR Permanent Search is partnering with award-winning, Tier I and 2 automotive OEM structural components and modular assembly supplier, that focuses on waste elimination and light-weighting initiatives from prototypes to full volume products to end of life service parts throughout Canada, US and Japan.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the improvement & development of management system procedures and forms, in line with applicable standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
- Create training materials in support of new procedures
- Participate in the development of reports, statistics and data analysis
- Perform incident Investigations, and implement corrective actions
- Participates in the maintenance of site records and filing systems
- Performs Physical Demands Descriptions
- Participates in the Joint Health and Safety Committees
- Coordinate meetings (prepare agendas, take minutes, track actions)
- Participate in safety audits
- Assist in performing industrial hygiene testing
- Assist with WSIB claims management and return to work planning

Key Requirements:
- University or college degree related to Occupational Health and Safety
- 1-3 years working in the health and safety field, preferably manufacturing environment
Additional Technical and Professional Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork and demonstrated presentations skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of ergonomic principles and ability to apply principles in a wide range of work environments.
- Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and WSIB Regulations
- Experience in industrial ergonomic assessments
- Experience conducting Physical Demands Analysis (PDAs)
- Access to a vehicle to travel to all 6 plants in the Oxford County
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision
