HCR Permanent Search is currently working with a top manufacturing company in the Richmond Hill area who needs to hire a Assistant Quality Manager.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • CQE designation or actively pursuing American Society for Quality certification
  • Background in Manufacturing or Quality Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Certified Lead Auditor for IATF standards and applications preferred
  • Strong problem-solving expertise (e.g., 5 Whys, Ishikawa/Fishbone analysis)
  • In-depth knowledge of customer warranty systems, portals, and OEM requirements
  • Strong understanding of Automotive Industry Action Group requirements (PPAP, APQP, MSA, PFMEA)
  • Effective negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Prior supervisory or management experience
  • Proficiency in computerized business applications
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organizational Quality Assurance program, ensuring products meet drawing specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements, while supervising and supporting QA team members.
  • Act as IATF Lead and Management Representative, maintaining the quality system in compliance with IATF, and other customer-specific standards, and reporting system performance to senior management and external parties.
  • Lead the division warranty program, analyzing customer data, identifying root causes of issues, implementing corrective actions, and coordinating improvement initiatives to reduce warranty costs and improve product performance.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements, offering technical support and conducting plant visits locally and internationally to address product concerns and resolve line issues.
  • Review quality records, audit results, NMR logs, deviation reports, and customer complaints to identify preventive and corrective actions, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to quality standards.
  • Provide training, education, and guidance to all personnel on quality systems, safety procedures, and continuous improvement practices, promoting a culture of compliance and operational excellence.
  • Support major projects requiring innovative problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional teamwork to achieve key business and quality objectives within project timelines.
  • Champion safety, continuous improvement, and BOS procedures, conducting workplace inspections, accident investigations, safety talks, and performance appraisals to ensure a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment.
